1.  What does it take to win a war?  Use historic example (up to, but not including WWI)

 

2.  Compare and contrast teh “insurgencies” of the American Revolution and the Civil War.  Why was one successful and the other not? (from the insurgents point of view)

 

3.  Was the U.S. justified in going to war with Mexico in the Mexican American War? (why or why not?)

 

4.  Was the U.S. truly successful in the Punitive Campaign with Mexico?  From a soldier’s standpoint, should this action be declared a victory?
